Date: May 28, 2026
Location: House of Architecture, Gustavo Gili Building, Barcelona
We’re looking forward to the next major Diversity in Architecture event: DIVIA in Barcelona, the 2026 World Capital of Architecture.
DIVIA will host the DIVIA Award 2025 exhibition and the second DIVIA Conference 2026, Beyond the Shadow, at the iconic Gustavo Gili Building – now the House of Architecture Barcelona – in cooperation with the Fundació Mies van der Rohe.
The conference highlights Lilly Reich’s creative contribution to Mies van der Rohe’s work, including the Barcelona Pavilion, and addresses the long-overlooked recognition of her authorship in architectural history. At the same time, the exhibition featuring the finalists and winner of the DIVIA Award 2025 will be on view at the Gustavo Gili Building from May 22–31, 2026.
Our inaugural DIVIA Conference, ‘Mind the Gap’—a biennial event alternating with the DIVIA Award ceremonies—introduced an engaging new format for our members and the wider public. The conference brought together international experts, researchers, practicing women architects, and students to explore diversity, and to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities for women in architecture. This marked an important step towards fostering a more inclusive and collaborative community within the fields of architecture and design, acknowledging and building upon the essential contributions of women in shaping the future.
